BRING THE SALON FEELING...HOME

"Missing the invigorating feeling of a good scalp massage?

Well my friends, I have some at home solutions that will bring the salon feels home to you!

We all get that wonderful feeling when we are at the shampoo bowl and the scalp massage happens? We close our eyes and start to tune out the hustle and bustle surrounding us. The hairstylist is massaging your head and then works towards the temples and starts moving in circular motions... Then suddenly we find ourselves saying the oh so famous comment, “I could go to sleep right here.”

How do we achieve that same feeling in the comfort of our own homes? Good thing is that we have some of these items at our fingertips.

If you are like me and find it hard to slow down long enough to relax in a nice hot bath, then it’s the shower for you. Start with Hair Cleansing Cream Shampoo by Redken .

This first shampoo should be one to clear out residue and prep the hair for the shampoo to help with your specific hair type and need.

I recommend that second shampoo to be the Hydrate Shampoo by Pureology. It doesn't take much because the product is so concentrated. You will find that the shampoo will really lather up, thus cleaning ALL areas of your scalp and hair.

***A signature aromatherapy blend of Lavender, Bergamot and Patchouli aids in relaxation and puts your mind at ease just like a brief moment of mediation.

THIS PART IS KEY: After you have a good lather, grab a scalp brush or wide tooth comb and stimulate the scalp.

Stress reducer - Stimulating the scalp reduces tensions, which helps to relieve stress & lower blood pressure.

Hair growth - A Healthy scalp means healthy hair. Stimulating the scalp promotes micro-circulation to the follicles, which helps hair growth.

Removes dead skin - Using this method will remove desk skin! Did you know that flakes can worsen hair loss? That’s the last thing we want, right?

Onto the conditioning phase with Hydrate Conditioner by Pureology

Remember, conditioner should be applied to the middle of the strands of hair and then through to the ends. This will help you to not feel too oily too quickly and/or weighed down.

My favorite thing to do since we want to allow the conditioner to sit is to grab a medium sized towel get it damp with hot water, then wrap it around my head while the conditioner sits. The aromas from the shampoo and conditioner are relaxing fragrances that relieve stress. This is prime time to either exfoliate your face and body, shave or wash the rest of your body.

***Awaken your senses with invigorating Menthol and Mint that stimulate your scalp and leave a fresh, tingly feeling
